Your Skin After Summer: A Fall Reset Guide

Summer is fun until your skin sends you the bill. Sun exposure, humidity, chlorine, extra time outdoors - it all adds up, and fall is when the damage tends to surface. It's also, conveniently, the best time to do something about it before a full slate of holiday parties and photos arrives.

Here's how we think about the seasonal shift, both in the treatment room and at your bathroom sink.

First: Address the Summer Damage

IPL Photofacial

If summer left you with sun spots, redness, or uneven pigmentation, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is usually the first move. It targets pigment and vascular damage sitting in the skin, often invisible day-to-day, but very visible once fall light hits your face differently than August light does. Expect some initial darkening of spots before they flake off - that's the treatment working, not a problem.

PRX Biorevitalizer

A biorevitalization topical treatment that works without visible peeling, PRX helps repair sun-damaged skin, improve texture, and kickstart collagen - all with essentially no downtime. It's a good option if you want results but have zero interest in walking around red and flaking through fall events.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

Using your own blood's growth factors, PRP supports skin repair and collagen renewal from the inside out. It pairs well with microneedling and is a solid pick if summer left your skin looking tired rather than just sun-spotted - think dullness, uneven texture, or that general "I need a reset" feeling.

Laser Hair Removal

Fall and winter are actually the ideal season to start (or continue) laser hair removal. Less sun exposure means lower risk of complications and better results. If you've been meaning to start a package, this is the best window.

Then: Start Prepping for the Holidays

Botox

If you've got events on the calendar (and this time of year, you probably do) now's the time to get ahead of it. Botox takes 1-2 weeks for full effect, and lasts around 3-4 months, so booking in early fall means you're camera-ready well before the first holiday party, not scrambling the week of.

Radiesse

For volume loss or deeper lines, Radiesse is a longer-lasting filler option that also stimulates your own collagen production over time. It's a good choice if you're thinking beyond one event and want results that hold through the whole season.

The Skincare Cabinet Switch

Treatments handle the big stuff. Your daily routine handles the rest, and it needs to change with the season. Remember, you treat yourself at home 80% of the time, and we treat you only 20% of the time - and that's if you are consistent with skin treatments.

Swap in an AlphaRet Peel Pad. Summer skin can usually handle lighter exfoliation, but as humidity drops, these pads deliver retinoid + AHA exfoliation in one easy step - useful for keeping cell turnover going without overdoing it as skin gets drier.

Add an Even Tone Intensive. If summer left behind any pigmentation, fall is when you actually start correcting it - cooler weather means less risk of new sun-triggered pigment fighting against your progress.

Upgrade your moisturizer. That lightweight summer lotion isn't going to cut it once the air dries out. Move to something thicker and more occlusive to actually lock in hydration. Consider NOON's In Depth Filler Cream or SkinBetter's Trio Luxe moisturizer. These creams work at the surface to plump and hydrate, which matters more in fall as skin naturally loses moisture faster.

The Bottom Line

Summer damage doesn't fix itself, and holiday season doesn't wait. Fall is the sweet spot to treat what's already happened and get ahead of what's coming. Book a consultation and we'll build a plan that fits your skin and your calendar — not just today's Instagram trend.
